King’s Korner

There is just something about playoff time of the year, I can feel it in the air and I’m all the way down in SoFla. I just loved it when it is playoff time. Hockey playoffs start tonight with some very good match ups and the Bruins of course starting tomorrow. Check out my blog below for a preview of the huge Bruins Canadiens series. Most night I go home work out, watch Jeopardy at

People ask me “oh your such a big boston guy, why do the sox suck so bad?” or “man you must hate life right now cause the sox are 2-9 with the worst record in the league” I hit them with a I’m focused on playoffs right now pal, Bruins Celtics. I have never cared for April baseball and will never care for April baseball, cause it just doesn’t even matter. The Florida Marlins started the season off 11-0 last year and didn’t even make the playoffs! I personally send a guarantee to everyone that the Red Sox will make the playoffs this year, so do me a favor and chill the eff out. Right now they are losing sure, no hitting or pitching, but whatever it will all come around, baseball has 162 who cares. Chill out Boston, focus of the playoffs, worry about the Sox later on. Boston isn’t a 1 team city like New York, LA, or Miami. Boston has 4 legit playoff contending teams every year, so don’t go freaking out about 1 cause they have started slow.

Well that’s it here from King’s Korner just a couple quick thoughts. Everyone enjoying Matty Dew’s college basketball blogs?? Oh wait he can’t write them anymore!!! BOO YEEAHHH your welcome world, Sincerely Whalen.

First time blogger here, well not really but first time blogger in April on CSBS. Sorry it’s been a while.... been busy golfing, having some diet sodas, and getting ass like I’m in a boy band. I have been threatened by MattyDew that if I do not blog I will be chopped from CSBS and given a “You’re fired!” Trump style.  He’s an angry elf.

What am I excited about right now? Bruins vs Canadiens first round of the playoffs starting thirsty Thursday night that’s what. I don’t even care if you’re a non-Bruins fan (ie Tim Amara) or a non-hockey fan (ie most of southern America) this is a ridiculously huge series and just plain great for hockey. The biggest rivalry in hockey hands down no questions asked. This series will not disappoint, the build up from what has happened throughout the season has been nothing short of remarkable.  Charas decapitation of some Joe Schmoe; the epic games and fights that have occurred throughout the season will lead to a truly unreal.com series. I fully expect the Bruins to take this series but it is going to be a Vick fight. Get it???  Let’s take a look at the match up shall we. Goalie Timmy boom boom, record setter, the tank Thomas has been incredible for the Bruins this year. Easily the best goalie in hockey throughout the year I expect him to carry that right into the playoffs. Carey Price is a worthy opponent but he has not been Thomas good. Winner: Bruins.

Defense led by the captain Zdeno Chara, the Bruins defense has been stellar as usual, they say defense wins championships and that will remain true going forward. With the addition of Tommy Kaberle, the Bruins defense is now championship worthy. Montreal’s defense is good, don’t get me wrong, PK Subban is a stud on the back line, and will be for many years to come.  The Bruins have depth and they will carry them forward in this series, Montreal just cannot match the D that the Bruins have. Winner: Bruins.

Forwards, the scoring line of Krejci, Lucic, and Horton, was just what I predicted at the beginning of the year, one of the best lines in hockey this year. Lucic had a break out year, Krejci was able to be the playmaker he has shown he could be in the past, and Horton proved to be the sniper that the Bruins lacked last year. This will be the first playoff appearances for Brad Marchand, and Tyler Seguin. Marchand has been the rookie of the year for the B’s among a very crowded field. Hockey is a different animal when it comes to playoff time, how will the rookies respond in the playoffs? Seguin has been solid playing on the 3rd and 4th line this year, nothing seems to bother him too much. Marchand has been great all year long becoming the top goal scorer on the 2nd line after starting the year on the 4th line. However, Marchand does have a temper and he tends to pick up stupid penalties in games. There is a time and a place to pick up a penalty and hopefully the little guy can control his temper this series. The key to this series will be the 4th line play for the Bruins. Thornton, Campbell, Ryder, Paille. The 4th line play by the Bruins this year was the best in hockey hands down. 4th lines in hockey are merely checking lines holding off the opposing team to give a rest to the other 3 lines, not for this team the 4th line is scoring goals and swinging the momentum in the Bruins direction. The 4th line will be the X factor for the Bruins in this series, no one respects the 4th line and these guys will eat you alive if you slack off against them. Look for the 4th line to provide a ton of energy for the Bruins once again. Winner: Bruins.

The Bruins went 3-4 in the regular season against the Canadiens but I am not scared away by this. The Bruins are a much better team now than they were prior to the trade deadline; the pieces put in places are championship piece. This team is built to win a Stanley Cup this year. I predict the Bruins take this series in 6 games. I believe they will dominte at home and a little bit sluggish on the road, the Canadiens have one of best home ice advantages in sports with their crazy fans and singing songs like it’s a soccer game. This is the beginning to mission 16, to bring home the first Cup since ’72 and joining the rest of the town on the championship road show. You know what they say if you’re going to a party might as well show up fashionably late.

And there is your Bruins first round of the playoffs blog. Gotta keep the little guy happy so he doesn’t bite my ankles when I make my triumph return to Boston May 24th through June 1st. Playoff Hockey  starting off with the Bruins vs. the Canadiens. It’s like I’m a diamond in an ice storm.  You’re welcome Roache. You’re welcome world. Welcome to the playoffs.

Sorry its been awhile, Spring Break 2011 what do you expect no time to do blogs when there are fresh college girls to do in SoFla. Sue Me

Boy has the bruins been in a rut lately, call it the dog days of hockey but things are not going the Killer Bs way right now. After playing their best hockey winning 7 straight games, and looking like the best team in the NHL. Since then they have lost the last 6 of 7 games against some so so teams.  Maybe the Bs are just getting this out of their system before the playoffs start, at least that’s what I’m going with. The Celtics are also in their dog days of Basketball right now losing the last 4 of 7 games, and are also looking so so as they try to move on with their new team. Does think affect my outlook for the playoffs for either team, no not so much. I think both teams are engineered to make long runs in the playoffs, and let this little bump in the road serve as a lesson for the playoffs of how to bounce back from adversity. I believe that both teams on any given night can beat any team in their respective leagues.

In other news my ncaa bracket is faccckkkedddd. Horrible picks horrible year for KingWhalen, if matty dew gets to write more ncaa bball blogs next year I apologize to all the bomb’rs it is 100% my fault.

For all you sport playing junkies, and weight lifting maniacs out there this blog is for you.  Now I don’t want to toot my own horn but I am pretty much a dominate sports superstar, and definitely the most athletic of out everyone here at CSBS. After years of research and many bouts of trial and error, I KingWhalen believe I have finally crafted the perfect post workout drink. A good post workout drink is essential for any true athlete like myself. You must put protein and carbohydrates into your body within an hour of your workout, it is as critical as working out so you don’t end up looking like CummShow. BoomRoasted.  Now do not read into these Gatorade commercials about their own post workout drink it is crap their own athletes don’t even drink believe me I know from experience. All you need is KingWhalen baby. I do not use other people or animals in my testing its all me, So this blog is truly coming from the heart. First you will need to purchase Myoplex Original (not the light it is crap), I prefer the Vanilla flavor the best. One serving of this stuff has 42 grams of protein that is unreal!! That is 84% of your daily intake of protein. The rest that you will need to purchase is cheap and can be found at your local market. Milk 1% or lower, bananas, honey, apple juice, strawberries, also peanut better. But if you know KingWhalen you know he does not like peanut butter so I do not purchase or use it. Now preparing the drink, you will need a blender. First pour in 15oz of 1% or skim milk, then one packet of myoplex. After you have completed those steps add in a whole banana, I like to break it in two, then add a couple splashes of apple juice I use about 1 cup. Then put in the honey giving it a forceful squeeze,  a tablespoon should do the trick. After the honey comes the strawberries, I usually use 2 to 3 berries in one shake. Finally the last part of your mission is to add 5 ice cubes then blend it all together for about 45 seconds. Enjoy it I know it will taste great because I invented this recipe. Now you are getting closer to becoming a great athlete like KingWhalen. But if you are the likes of a Matt Matty Dew Roache or a Cummshow Cummings it doesn’t matter how many shakes you drink you still have no shot at ever being an athlete the laws of physics literally prevent it from happening. KingWhalen helping out the world one person at a time. Your Welcome World.

Its Nascar's biggest day and ho hum still not a fan. Im going to flip and check out for a few minutes during the race today but I'm not excited or wouldn't be mad if I miss the whole race. Really doesn't do much for me. Maybe because im born and raised in the Northeast where no one cares about Nascar unless your a NH redneck (like cummings). I've actually watched some shows on Nascar this week at the gym and it was even in the new issue of ESPN the magazine but still nothing is happening for me. I'm pretty sure if you throw me out there I will end Jimmie Johnson's title run then right after I will retire and go back to Food and Beverage because Nascar is that boring to me. Which asks the question what is more boring to watch Nascar or Spring training baseball. Wow that is a tough one for sure. I'm going to say spring training baseball wins most boring hands down. Sorry Roache. But with that being said Nascar still is boring until a crash of course. I'm predicting Tony Stewart wins today. He is the John Daly of Nascar and if anyone knows Steve Whalen they know that his favorite golfer is Johnny Daly. . Like the pick, not a cop out like Cummings. Now pretty much the only story that has caught my interest this week is the 10th anni of Dale Earnhardt's crash and i guess they are throwing up the 3s on lap 3. Should be a touching tribute a sad day for Junior indeed. Now a great story would be if Junior can pull off the W on his daddys 10 year anni of his death. I'm going watch the first few laps to see the tribute should be pretty special, but I won't be watching the entire damn thing. This is first ever CSBS Nascar blog and probably will be the last one CSBS ever has. So America grab your Budwesiers, put on your tacky graphic T, cook your hot dogs and get a pack of Marlboros cause its Daytona 500 day, might as well be National Redneck Day.

CSBS Daytona 500 Winner Predictions

King Whalen- Tony Stewart

Tim Amara- Dale Jr.

Cummshow- Cop out, Jimmie Johnson.

Matt Roache- Not playing.

According to my fellow CommShowBombShow associates I am not supposed to write blogs like the one I am about to write. Normally I don’t listen to them why start now. Looks like I am alittle too late on writing the blog on  Bruin trade targets looks like they already have made their moves oh well.

As everyone knows Michael Scott (the greatest character ever created in the history of US television) is leaving my favorite show The Office at the end of the season. Scott played by Steve Carell has been a weekly laugh box for everyone that has shared time in the different  Whalen Compounds that there has been over the last few years. Dorm rooms in college, apartment Brighton, home in Easton, now down here in Fort Lauderdale, FL. While this is going to be a very sad and emotional time for me in the coming weeks as Scott will fade into the sunset, I am an eternal optimist and will always love The Office. With that being said lets take a look at potential candidates that could fill the enormous shoes Michael Scott is going to leave on the show and in the office.

Going to start this off in house, promotion through the ranks if you will. Now the choice that could make the most sense for Dunder Mifflin would be Jim Halpert.  A funny, smart, tall man, with a hot wife remind you of someone…Steve Whalen anyone….He does have the experience as he is a former co-manager. The question here is could the show survive with Jim now as the main character. He is a great character on the show but he is better in a supporting role. Since he has gotten married to Pam he has become pretty lame anyway.  I will be grading each candidate on a scale of 1 to 10. 1 having little to no chance to become manager. For example if we were grading Matt Roache on if he will grow to 6 foot, his grade would be a 1 cause there is no chance he is 5’1 and 35 years old physically impossible.  Jim Halpert= 6.

Staying in house and moving on to Dwight Schrute easily the 2nd best character on the show. Dwight is the top salesman 13 out of the last 12 months . Yes 13. However he is an idiot. He does not know how to run a business and his social skills are worse than Hellen Keller. Too soon??? Anyway Dwight runs a beet farm and that is about all the experience he has in running a business. The show might stand a better chance to survive if Dwight is in fact appointed manager. He is ridiculous and an entertainment nonetheless like Michael Scott. Would the company survive probably not deduct points. Dwight Schrute= 4.

Andy  “Nard Dog” Bernard, this guy is a riot. Funny, a moron, unstable, loves music, and has an incredibly hard time getting woman, remind you of someone?? Yes Matt Matty Dew Roache indeed. He went to an Ivy League school Cornell ever heard of it? But he is the worst salesman in the office. Zero managerial experience. Dunder Mifflin sent him to anger management, fiancé cheated on him in the office with Dwight, and lost his other girl to Gabe. This guy is a train wrecked but he is funny. The company would fold within a few weeks of him taking over. But it would be an entertaining ride all the way to the end with the Nard Dog. Andrew Bernard= 2.

The last candidate in house that I would consider for the open manager position left by Michael Scott would be Darryl Philbin, because I do not consider Gabe a boss like person and I would also hate it more than Cummshow’s cat. The new boss Jo loves Darryl, promoted him from the warehouse to the office and thinks that he is highly intelligent. Has taken over Jim’s old office after Jim moved back to salesman. I am not actually sure of what Darryl’s position is right now but Jo loves him so you never know. And according to Rooney rule he has to at least get an interview for the position. Darryl Philbin= 5.

                Outside candidates

Todd Packer, a traveling salesman for Dunder Mifflin that is also Michael’s best friend. An outrageous, inappropriate, certified alcoholic, Packer could equal success for the show and sink the company ship faster than the Titanic, too soon????? Packer is rumored to be coming back for a couple more episodes so you never know what could happen. Not sure if he has any managerial experience, not even sure he is still alive at this point but he has done something Michael never has and that’s poop in his office. Todd Packer= 3.

A person who is rumored to be on a few episodes this season is Will Ferrell, lets face it  he is a comedy legend. Not sure what his role is going to be like on the show but if you have ever seen a Will Farrell movie you have to be excited about this. Ferrell is an absolute riot and there are many times I can't even look at him without laughing. He would be the best choice for  to take over for Carell with his star power alone. Ferrell could keep this show going for years and even make it better than Carell did and that is saying a lot. The Office is continually one of the highest rated shows in the US and Ferrell will only keep that going strong. He could be very much in the same role as Michael, or he could be like his anchorman character Ron Burgundy, either way I am very excited about this news and if I were running the show I would without a doubt throw Farrell more money than Madoff stole (too soon??) to have him accept this role. Will Ferrell= 9.

Next on my list would be Ricky Gervais, he was the manager of the British version of The Office, and the only reason why I bring him up is he made a cameo as his character on an episode of the office earlier this year. I am not sure how America would like the Brit with his heavy accent taking over Dunder Mifflin. I have watched British version of the office and he is funny and wild just like Michael Scott but he is often hard to understand with the British accent and I think it would be a bad decision to bring him into the show as the main character. Ricky Gervais= 2.

And those are my major candidates now for a quick list of outside the box candidates.

Jack Donaghy 30 Rock. Played by Alec Bladwin. Chances = 3.

James Franco cause well he does everything else in the world. Chances = 4.

Charlie Sheen, well he is going to be fired from 2 ½ men soon enough. Chances  =  1.

Jason Bateman, a name I heard a lot, people loved him from Arrested Development. Chances = 5.

Jack Bauer. Chances = 6.

Steve Whalen. Chances = 10.

Mike Myers would be hilarious. Chances = 2.

Rob Lowe. He is on almost every show he would die for this job. Chances = 6.

Matt Roache. Chances = -50.

2-15-11

I am a huge sox fan everyone knows it, I am also the CommShowBombShow 2011 Baseball Guru after my start to finish destruction in Fantasy Baseball in ’10 defeating the self-described original baseball guru Matt Matty Dew Roache, but am I the only one who thinks that spring training is the most pointless useless thing in the history of baseball. I get it they have to practice to get ready for the season I’m fine with that. But the media covering spring training is ridiculously stupid. Watching, taping, and analyzing every wind sprint Adrian Gonzalez does on February 15th is beyond dumb. How dumb is it, it would be like having an hour show to hear a person say where they are going in free agency, its so dumb its like having a helo in the air to watch a football player in a car going to a facility then  having a 24 hour boardcast with the same looping video of a car rolling down the road on a major sports network, its so dumb its like being a super bowl winning QB and raping a girl in a bathroom in the backwoods of some nowhere town, its so dumb its like being an NFL QB dating a 17 yr old high senior, its so dumb its like setting up an account on a foot fetish website that the entire world can view and posting pictures of yourself and your wife and then asking for privacy when the public inevitably finds out and you get called out on it. I do not care that Dice-k threw 5 long toss balls at 11:59am I am not impressed by that, my retarded monkey can throw 5 long toss baseballs and I don't even have a monkey. What I care about is playing baseball when it matters in September, in October. I don’t even live in Boston anymore and I am already sick of the Boston reporters at spring training. Look I get it its an excuse to get out of Siberia I mean Boston and come to beautiful Florida for 10 months during spring training. Not really 10 months but it sure feels like it. And don’t get me wrong I am as excited about this Sox team as I have been in years but when its February and the season won’t even be in full swing until July I don’t really care that Jonny Papelbon stretched for 15 mins then ate a tuna sandwich, then  threw the ball lefty and then hit the showers. With that being said I think Dustin Pedroia needs to be a guest blogger on this site, I mean everytime this guy conducts an interview it is instant gold. If jersey shore ever has a spot open up there is only one guy that should be mentioned to fill that spot and its Pedroia. This guy is classic, a small midget (roache like) who dominates balls (like roache but in other ways) and gives his heart in every game he plays then will talk shit and be the most cocky son of a bitch since Steve Whalen. If I were a reporter I’m following Pedroia the destroyer the entire spring training I don’t care if there are bigger sox stories and I am being threatened by my boss that if I don’t cover Gonzalez or Crawford that I will be fired. Well now you know what the 2011 Baseball guru thinks about spring training.

“I mean listen, we're sitting here talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, but we're talking about practice. Not the game that I go out there and die for and play every game last it's my last but we're talking about practice man. How silly is that? Now I know that I'm supposed to lead by example and all that but I'm not shoving that aside like it don't mean anything. I know it's important, I honestly do but we're talking about practice. We're talking about practice man. We're talking about practice. We're talking about practice. We're not talking about the game. We're talking about practice. When you come to the arena, and you see me play, you've seen me play right, you've seen me give everything I've got, but we're talking about practice right now.”

Well thank you Allen Iverson I’m glad someone in this world agrees with me.

2-14-11

Well  now football is over, baseball is in spring training (who cares), basketball is in the “winter dog days” as we call it around my apartment, so what does that leave... Hockey, Bruins and the trade deadline.  Now I know I blogged about the best effing bruins game of all time a week ago; well that game has been replaced with the Canadien game that was played last week. 186 penalty minutes 14 goals and a smokeshow to watch it with great game. So yes, I will admit that the Dallas Stars game I may have had a Tim Amara overhype. Well who cares. Sue me.

Now we are quickly approaching the NHL trade deadline which is set for Monday Feb. 28th at 3pm. Now I am expecting and would like the Bruins to be very active. They have 2 first round picks this year and I wouldn’t mind departing with one of those picks to bring in a solid player that will help them get over the “Amara hump”. I will be keeping an update on the trade deadline throughout the next couple weeks until the day comes. Maybe Amara will step up and do the same with the Celtics as they approach the deadline although he is going to be very busy with the NFL mock draft. I would ask Roache to keep a live running update on the Celtics but that would make our site look bad. No offense coachroache. The point of this blog is to talk about the players that the Bruins absolutely will not and should not trade. Going forward as we come closer to the deadline I will research and share some potential trade targets and positions of need.

The following players are the ones that I think are deemed untouchables. These players are too valuable to the team to trade away. First and foremost the MVP of the first half in maybe all of hockey, Timmy "The Tank" Thomas. Incredible comeback after losing his starting job last year. He is the best goaltender in the NHL and is the key to the Bruins making an extended run in the playoffs. Next up is the captain and the best defender in the NHL Zdeno Chara, he is as important to the bruins as the before mentioned Timmy Thomas. The leadership, work ethic, and heart he displays every night is unparalleled. You know what they say defense wins championships and without Big Z or Timmy The Tank, the Bruins don’t have a shot. The next untouchable is #37 Patrice Bergeron, hard to believe this guy is only 25, feels like hes been in Boston for 20 years. Sure Bergy has had his ups and downs throughout his career but this year is truly his breakout year. Scoring goals and playing outstanding D. He should be a top candidate for Best defensive forward award. He is the Bruins captain in waiting if Zdeno ever leaves or retires. This guy is all business all the time, brings it each and every night and does it with the most sportsmanship I have ever seen on the ice.  Also having a breakout year and thus has thrust himself into the untouchable category is Milan Lucic, this guy is a Canadian badass. He will score on you and then knock you out with a punch. Kind of reminds me of myself. He is leading the team in scoring and is getting better every year he plays and he is only 23 years old. Luc will be a force to reckon with in many years to come and he is already the Bruins top goal scorer scary to think what he will be doing in 5 years when he is still only 28. And finally the last untouchable I believe is Tyler Seguin a young kid with all the promise in the world . I believe they will develop him and once he learns on to play in the NHL and has an NHL body he will be a force for many years to come. He has started off hot this year and some other 18 and 19 year old are playing a lot better than him, but do not give up on this kid, he has show he has tremendous skill and vision. Trading Seguin now would be a bad idea with the potential he has, with Cam Neely now in the front office I believe the Bruins finally have good leadership running this team and won’t be making bad deals like they have in the past. For instance look at the Phil Kessel deal, traded to the Maple Leafs during an offseason, mainly traded because he was going to become too expensive to keep. Cam realized that and sent him packing and boy what a deal they received in return. 2 first round draft picks (one was #2 overall turned into Tyler Seguin), the other one will be at this year’s draft. As of right now it looks to be a lock for a top ten pick if not top five.  Great deal, I look for the B's to continue making great deals throughout the years with the correct leadership in place. In the past Bruins leadership had a bad habit of ruining their teams like Charlie Sheen ruins his liver. Please stay tuned to the KingWhalen blog for updates on the NHL trade deadline, also send along any questions you may have about the Bruins or anything else in life because I am an expert in all fields as my fellow commshow staffers know.  Until then enjoy your Monday, I am rocking casual Monday jeans and a tshirt, because whoever started casual Friday was a genius so I started casual Monday and one day when your kids ask you  I wonder who started that, you can tell them Steve Whalen did, and your welcome. It is still about 10 to 15 years in the making so Roache you’ll have to tell your grandkids. Boom roasted.

Best Fucking Bruins Game I have ever seen

And it is only 3 minutes in. Sorry for the cursing I know I said 2011 I would calm down the swearing but if you were watching this game you would be too. To recap opening faceoff 1 second in (literally) fight Campbell gets roughed up lots of blood. Stars 1-0. 2nd Opening faceoff fight Shawn Thorton not happy about Campbell getting rocked. So he roughs up some douche Star player. Tied 1-1. 3rd opening faceoff (literally) 4 seconds in to the game (literally) FIGHT Adam Mcquaid and this one was a dandy rocked another douche Star player and knocked him out!!!!! Bruins 2-1. So to recap 3 fights in 4 seconds (literally watch sportscenter if you don't believe me). At this point my heart is about to explode faster than the hindenburg blowing up. Just about to put a piece of garlic bread in my mouth (cause thursday's are spaghetti night at the Whalen Compound) and the Bruins score Milan Lucic on a pretty goal, I literally threw my garlic bread across the room and smashed it against the wall. Bruins 3-1  About 15 seconds after the goal some douche Star player takes a late shot of Tuukka Rask and Andrew Ference gets pissed and another FIGHT Ference rocks him to the ice. Bruins 4-1. A minute after that Patrice Bergeron scores on a very pretty goal. Bruins 5-1. 2 Minutes after that goal boom Bergy scores again!! with an extremely pretty goal. Bruins 6-1. Well they don't count fights to Bruins 3-0 10 minutes into the game. Ya know folks its 10 mins into the game right now as I blog and my life may be complete after watching that. That is literally the most excited I have been about a Boston sporting event since the Celtics in 2008 literally not bullshittting. Even with the Patriots going 14-2, even with the Celtics in the finals last year. That was simply incredible and makes hockey one of the best sports in the world boom I said it. Instant Classic  I will one day be showing this game to Roache's kids. Well he already has kids but you know what I mean.

And to the Dallas Stars Boom Roasted

Bruins first half recap

Record at the break  28-15-7 good enough for first place in the northeast divison and 3rd overall in the Eastern Conference.

Initial thoughts pretty much right where I expect them to be at. Plenty of games have been saved (literally) by Tim Thomas and his outstanding play. Chara is playing great as usual scoring more goals this year than last which is exactly what the Bruins need. One thing that upsets me about this team right now is their inconsistent play. One night they come and put up 7 goals; next night it looks like they hired Ryan Cummings to play and they shit the bed. That is a very frustrating thing that I have seen from this team and it drives me ape shit watching them. Another weird thing about this Bruins team is that they seem to play worse when Tuukka Rask starts in the net rather than Timmy "The Tank" Thomas. Maybe this is a confidence thing with the players and it looks like Tuukka has lost, not only his confidence in net but, everyones confidence around him. Now while Tuukka has struggled Timmy has more than stepped up. This guy is unreal the older he gets the better I don’t get it. Last year he struggled because of his hip injury, but this year hes hotter than Hanzel. Made the all-star team and is the leading candidate for the Vezina Trophy (given to the best goaltender in the NHL for you non hockey schlubs).

Now at the beginning of the season I said the first line of Lucic-Krejci-Horton would be the best in the NHL this year. Well the bad news is that might be true as of right now but the good news is there is still time don’t stop believing. Lucic is playing better than he ever has leading the Killer Bs in goals (20 already a career high) and Krejci, even with the injury, is doing what he does best and leading the team in assists. Horton has been a disappointment. Ttraded for him this offseason to bring his goal scoring prowess to the team, well he hasn’t quite done that as expected yet. Currently Horton has 12 goals only good enough for 5th on the team. I expect him to be much higher than that right now, now maybe we can chalk it up to adjusting to a team new and brand new atmosphere but as of right now I am disappointed in his play.

A couple more players to note with good first half performances are Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, Michael Ryder, and rookie Stephen (great name) Kampfer. Bergy is the leader on the team in points with 40. Outstanding first half performance as he is a captain in waiting (if Chara ever leaves).  I have heard people say that Tyler Seguin is a bust. Whoa whoa whoa! Calm down! This kid is 18 yrs old plays on the 3rd or 4th line most nights and is still learning how to play center in the NHL. I often ask people what were you doing when you were 18. Well I was doing 12oz curls slugging beers as a freshman in college running a 2.4 gpa and the most exercise I would get is sprinting to the bathroom to puke and rally. He has shown flashes that he is a special player with great stick handling and passing. Give this kid some time and he will be a great NHL player.

Now on a sad note, Marc Savard injured again with another concussion. I said trade him during the offseason or early in the season and at least get something back for him. I did it on my Bruins franchise in NHL ’11. Now am I smarter than the Bruins top brass? Well many would say no, but I say yes, yes I am. Who knows what the Bs will get out of Savard this year so I'd say its time to move on without him for right now. Also don’t forget Bergy went through this very same thing a few years ago and look how good he is playing right now so maybe Cam has something up his sleeve.

What I expect for the second half of the season is some more inconsistent play, but hopefully by playoff time that will be corrected. I expect the Bruins to finish first in the Northeast and go into the playoffs with the 2nd or 3rd seed, I don’t think they will go in as the number 1, nor do I want them to. Now according to Tim Amara that’s when the Bruins will choke (in the playoffs) because of their coach. Well I would be lying if I said I wasn’t concerned about it after last year; which I do not want to talk about.  Only time will tell what happens but I think the Bruins come out on fire and make a pretty good run in the East this year. It is not out of the question to say they have a legit shot at winning the Eastern Conference and potentially winning their first Stanley Cup since ’72. As many of you know my heart can’t take much more losing after the Pats, Celtics, Sox, Bruins no championships since ’08 we need this for Boston.

First Half MVP: Timmy Thomas

First Half LVP: Nathan Horton

First Half Rook MVP: Brad Marchand

Biggest Surprise: Milan Lucic leading the team in goals

2nd Half Player(s) to watch: Tyler Seguin, Johnny Boychuk

GOOD MORNINGGGG VIETNAMMMMMMMM

I must say the NHL is on fire. so hot right now. Not only do they come up with the greatest regular season event in the history of the 4 major sports - the New Years Day/Night Winter Classic. What a goldmine this has become for the NHL; huuuuge attendance numbers that rival NFL games. Huge tv ratings that rival playoff games. Whomever it was at the NHL office that came up with that idea deserves a major bonus every year even if he gets fired for sexual harassment , the NHL owes it to him. Now on to the next one with the all star game, who cares about all star games right? Who is going to watch anyway? Well the NHL once again comes through in the clutch. They come up with a draft to select the teams done by the players, pure brilliance. Most people dont  care about the NHL all star game but I can bet some people took notice this weekend with the new draft style. Now the ratings may or may not be up much but I can tell you people will be talking about the NHL all star game and that is great PR. No one is talking about the pro bowl and really who cares Roger Goodell is an idiot everyone knows it, the only thing that this guy can do is make mistakes. Moving the pro bowl out of Hawaii to Miami (yes i worked it) outraged players and then set the game a week before the super bowl to fill the "void" left by no football for one weekend. Well Goodell took away the two best things from the pro bowl: the free vacation to hawaii for the players and their families and it is the super bowl winning teams victory lap if you will. Now Goodell returned the pro bowl to the Hawaii for one year at least, but the asshole still made it a week before the super bowl to again fill the "void". Now i ask you Rog what void are you filling with putting the pro bowl in? Who cares Rog? Who cares? People are going to be watching more USFL or XFL or lingerie football league than they will the pro bowl. Hey Rog get an effing clue buddy, now the NHL will never become as big as your Commie ruled league but they know how to put on an event a whole hell of a lot better than you. Good thing we had some real leaders that made the NFL what it is before you took over because if it wasn't so big you would ruin it. NFL games in europe JOKE. Super Bowl in New york outside when your already canceling regular season games because of 8 inches of snow JOKE. Trying to get a franchise in Europe JOKE. Trying to move Americas biggest event to another country JOKE. Hey Rog if you single handily force no football next year because of your monster ego and I have no job I better be getting a fat check in the mail from you. Man up Rog. I am starting the chant "Bring back Tagliabue!" Thank you America and good night.

Special thanks to Senior Advisor Ryan Cummshowbummshow RC Cola Cummings on the NHL allstar blog topic.

Well Amara does it again. The Boston Celtics will not be winning the NBA finals this year because once again the Amara jinx is on. Go to his video of an already terrible song Black and Yellow remix Boston Celtics remix at the 40 second mark you will notice they photoshopped an image of banner #18 2011 NBA Champions Boston Celtics. Tim should know better what a joke of a move. A true dick face move tim has done this before by the way with the Patriots in 2007. The dude from Barstoolsports also did it. inxs the team and they never win it once it is done, it is irreversable my heart cant take many more loses. You can all thank Amara for this one. Unreal cant believe tim would do this again unreal. By June you will see a picture of Kobe Bryant on this website without a doubt fuck you amara fuck you buddy.

First blog of the new year and boy am I excited. Just read fellow Bomb'r Matty Dew's blog and couldn't agree less. Now I am going to try and write this without insulting Matty Dew as I usually always do. First off I would like to say it is asinine hate it. Hate it more than Chris Brown right now. I do not want the Jets to win a Super Bowl for the rest of forever (which is next year cause the world is ending ya know) Matt "Dew" "Coach" Roache actually wants to see them win the super bowl wait...where have I heard this before....ahhhhh yes Tim Amara loves cheering for the rival in well. Lakers, Jets, Yanks, and Flyers Tim loves em all. Roache now does too, well I'll tell you something Matty Dew and Tim this is staying a Pro Boston website radio magazine eventually site. Over my dead body are you two clowns gonna change this site. Tim would love to make it a Kobe Bryant Fan Club website faster than you can say rape. Now Roache my little friend whom I have protected from the bigger meaner kids for years at the Mcdonalds has gone to the "Amara Side" sickening.

Now what do I think about the rest of the playoffs and the Jets?? Well glad you asked I'm all for hopping on the Pack bandwagon right meow. What a great story this could be if they can win it all, Aaron Rodgers leading them to the promise land during Brett Favres 3rd and third to last retirement. The absolute injury depleted Packers going to the worlds stage and winning the big one. It would mark the first time a #6 seed would win the Super Bowl. This would be truely awesome. The Packers are a public football franchise the only one in the NFL, this would be phenomenal. Who wants to see a rapist (Big Ben), a fat foot loving cheeseburger killing guy literally named Rex, or a horrible Favre like QB in Cutler win a super bowl. Not me sir not me. Only downside to the Packers winning is Brett Favre would undoubtably take full 100% credit for the Pack Super win. How I have no idea but he would we all know it.

But some scenarios that will happen.

Steelers win= Big Ben will rape every chick in his path. Watch out dallas girls. Boom Roasted

Jets win= Rex will close down every Mcdonalds in Texas and declare it his personal holiday and eat cheeseburgers and lick feet until his heart wins its own personal Super Bowl and stops working. Boom Roasted

Bears wins= Cutler is the new Favre and its like Favre never left the league. Boom Roasted

Or the 4th and final scenario Roger Goodell cancels the game and declares himself the Super Bowl Champion. Boom Roasted

Last Night Steve Whalen took his talents to South Beach…Of course I went to the Celtics vs Heat game in Miami last night why wouldn’t I…I only bought my tickets 3 months ago for petessake. And ya know the AAA Arena is Gorgeous what a great arena…Has the feel of a South Beach nightclub..Had tickets to the 400 Level has seats in the building…did not make it to my seats once…gained access to the Dewars Club there Suite Level if you will and it was truly fantastic…Had a great dinner Salmon, potatoes, prime grade A beef, crab legs and Caesar salad, and a corona ta boot. wow it was great. What a great game by the Celtics Rajon Rondo once again showed he is truly the best point guard in the league..The heat put Lebitch James on him in the first half and look what happens 3rd grade field day for Paulie Pierce and Ray Ray Allen…The women at the game last night was unreal I fell in love no less than 150 times, the game atmosphere and experience is much more of a place to be seen than to watch the game…A much different experience compared to the Boston Garden…The noise the cheering the overall fan knowledge in Boston is so great and last night just proved that to me even more…Take for instance the opening video before introductions…The Celtics video is great really pumps you up shows some great plays and moments from years past and then KG screaming god I love that…Then compare it to what I saw last night from the Heat HORRRIBLEEE video absolutely terrible, did not have one clip of basketball didn’t even have a basketball period. It was a fashion shoot video where the players dress up in there Sunday Bests and pose for the camera it was actually comical to watch, just shows from the top down in the Miami heat organization that they are more about popularity than actually winning basketball games…. So just another Arena and major sporting event to add to the resume no big deal. Overall great experience last night in South Beach but I gotta say nothing compares to being in Boston with the great atmosphere and fans that are up there. But I will say the Heat Dancers are way better than the Celtics not even comparable. Its like trying to explain why you would watch Fired Up over watching the Celtics Heat game you just cant explain it is non-negotiable.  Boom Roasted…

Hello Ladies. King Whalen coming back at cha hot and fast annndd it hasn’t even been a month yet so touché Whalen. Some things I would like to shine light on during my time on this blogspot is the Patriots, Rajon Rondo, and finally of course [what would a Steve King James Whalen blog be without] the Boston Killer Bs Bruins. I even may add in some life experiences here and there and with the displeasure and constant angst of a one Matt Matty Dew Roache and Timmy don’t call me BOOM BOOM Amara.

SoFla is great in case your asking. Large November planned but a huge December lined up for the man they call “The Man” (steve whalen is “the man”) New England Patriots wow 6-1 not only are the Patriots winning with team football they are also ruining teams in the process. The Minnesota Vikings for one, not only did they have some itty bitty (Favres Dick) problems coming into the game, but they also had a player Randy Moss that basically didn’t want to beat his old team but also tried rejoining them after the game. Hey Childress you shouldn’t be cutting Moss you should be cutting Favre ya jackass. Myron Pryor you da man big time. The entire week people were talking about little dick’s (no not you roache) ankle, can he play will he play….well who the fuck cares, Myron Pryor solved that brainbuster with a helmet to the chin of the most overrated player in the history of the NFL, knocking him out of the game and putting him to sleep…literally……….BA BA BA BA Bennny and the wooodddddd great game…both scoring TDs, Wood a clutch 4th quarter first down that sealed the game….Danny Woodhead is filling the role of Kevin Faulk the one coming out of the back field catching the ball bringing those clutch clutch plays that Faulk used to deliver on a gamely??(is that a word) basis…..BJGE. Who would have thought that Benny would have out rushed AP and with less carries AND more TDs incredible. Why did we ever have Maroney around in the first place?? Now you could clearly see that Neon Deion Branch was not 100% as he was much slower than he is when healthy. He was more in as a decoy and an extra body than anything. On one play Brady found him about 20 yards down field wide open, led him with a pass and Branch just didn’t have the legs to get there, he was injured, hopefully he can get healthy and stay healthy soon. Tom Tommy Boy Brady- this guy continues to impress me and i've been watching him for years through super bowls and MVP record breaking seasons. Quick question, how is he only ranked 21st best NFL player? You kidding me NFL Net? Who made that list Charley Casserly?? Anyway look at the way Brady is playing right now moving around the pocket, extending plays with his legs wow incredible…that TD play to Timmy’s boy Brandon Tate was nothing short of great. At his best last season Tommy Boy was not able to make those plays which only tells me that he is not 100%... he is 150% percent right now.

Rajon Rondo sir I Tip my cap to you…Great Halloween costume, Tiger Woods hilarious much better than Shaq’s outfit and Shaq’s creepy little friend, I am still having nightmares over that…17 assists per game, 67 assists in 4 game (NBA Record), 24 assists in one game incredible…He is the early season MVP sorry Tim not Kobe…The record for assists in one game is 30 is there any question that Rondo doesn’t break that at some point this season?? There isn’t one person in the entire NBA that can cover Rondo for an entire game, sorry Tim not even Kobe…Rajon you would have won TOTCOTW award if it weren’t for the tremendous hit on Mr. Small Cock by Myron Pryor….

Now the moment you have all been waiting for my weekly biweekly monthly Boston Bruins blog…..WHAT AN INCREDIBLE START BY TIM TIMMY 2 TIMES THOMAS 6-0-0 to start the year, 2 shut outs, the best start by a Bruins goalie ever, and he is up 4-1 in tonight’s 11/3 game against the Buffalo Sabres….If Timmy 2 times starts the year 10-0-0 I will rename my blog Timmy 2 Times for the remainder of the hockey season!!!!!!!!!! Booommmmm there you have it, pucks in your court Tim. Bruins continue to win and continue to look truly great…Every line seems strong right now even line 4 which is great if you can have a solid 4th line. Tyler Seguin the phenom is playing great and he is only 18 years old, he continues to score and grab assists. This kid is truly and simply a play-maker period. I am still in love with the first line Luc, Krecji, and Horton. Wow what a force of a line and they are showing it on the ice. I said it once and I'll say it again I think that this could be the best line in the NHL this season…The Penalty kill that the bruins are displaying is the best in the NHL without question, last I saw it tonight it was at 92% incredible!!! They did however give up a goal on the PK tonight but we were up 4-0 so I say who…..who cares……The Bruins defense is a thing of greatness right now led of course by Big Zdeno Chara, they are shutting down the top goal scorers in the league every single night, they are also blocking more shots than I have ever seen a team block in the regular season and that is led by Dennis Seidenberg it seems like he blocks at least 6 shots a night and if you have every been hit by a hockey puck then you know shit hurts like a son of a bitch…Looks like the Bruins will be winning tonight and thus starting a brutal stretch of 14 games in 26 days, a bit out of the ordinary for an NHL schedule but this team is built for greatness and there is no question that this team is the best in the NHL. Now I have not seen every team this season but I am CommShowBombShow’s hockey guru so ya you better listen to me.

10-18-10

**Matty Dew purposely waited until today to post this blog, so it was a legit month so ignore the references to "tonight" even though the day doesn't match up. Mr. MD thinks readers should get on Whalen a bit more for these blogs. They're good. More would be great. Get on him peeps!**

KING WHALEN IS BACK BABY….I know you have missed me world and it has been a long time since I have last blogged but I am back nonetheless….. biggest thing I’d like to touch on here is the Bruins…..

The Boston Bruins make their North American and King Whalen debuts tonight against the Dirty Jersey Devils, should be a very good test and nice measuring stick as to how good this team is early in the season. L O V E the first line we have Luc, Krejci, Nathan Horton this line is going to be fire all season long. 3 young guys, that I think will match perfectly together Lucic the tough, fighter, the big hitter, the overall man. With David Krejci the young german great play maker, might have the best puck possession of any bruin, combine that with the scoring ability of Nathan Horton and this could be the best young line in all of hockey. Yes, I said it, in all of hockey. Horton has 3 goals over two games so this line needed no time building their chemistry together. Now as you all know Marc Savard was slated to be the center in this line before his pussass complained about concussions again. HEY MARC YOU’RE A HOCKEY PLAYER SUCK IT UP YOU SHITBOX STOP ACTING LIKE A BASEBALL PLAYER AND MAN UP. Now with that being said if Ms. Savard (whammmyyy did I say that) does come back this year I really hope they throw him on line 3 or 4 and not mess with line 1, because I do think line 1 will be that good this year.

Large Large pat on the old back to Mr. Jeremy Jacobs, does something he hardly ever does and that is pay a player. NOT only did he pay a player this week; he paid 2!!!!!!!! Eat that Mr. Krafty Bob. 3 year deal for Bergy (Patrice Bergeron for you suckass amateurs) and a 7 YEAR DEAL- let me repeat- 7 YEAR DEAL for the captain in your programs and the captain on your love boat Zdeno Chara. Wow caps off to you Jacobs caps off I hope you will come to SoFla November 24th for the Bruins-Panthers game in which I will be attending so I can shake your hand.

Now a very interesting storyline to keep an eye on here as we go through the season is the goalie situation. Timmy Thomas has been given his 2nd straight start tonight over Tuukka Tuukkaa Time Rask. Tim Thomas of course was replaced as a starter last season by Rask and remained that way the entire playoff run. Well Rask was clearly the starter coming into the season but with a tremendously bad opening game giving up 5 goals, Rask has been on the bench since. Tim Thomas started game 2 and threw up a shutout. Wow. Tim Thomas returning to his 08-09 level perhaps?? In which he won the Vezina Trophy which unless you live under an F'ing rock, you know that its awarded the BEST GOALIE in the NHL for the entire season. Keep an eye of the tiger on this situation to see what will happen. Will the Bruins go with a 50/50 split a goalie by committee if you will. Will Thomas win his job back outright?? Or will Tuukka time be able to return to 09-10 level and remain as the starter and #1 goalie.

Now for a quick Bruin season preview in which the guys at CommShowBombShow did not want to put on air (they would rather talk about the red sox when they 7 games back, or the HUB or EEI or Neyo) well to those bastards I say fuck that and fuck you with a smile. I see the Bruins record at 45-30-7 this year and will enter the playoffs as a # 3 seed. Home Ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs they will play the a rematch series against the Philly Flyers. Payback series there will be blood and their will be tears coming from the defending eastern conference champs Flyers. Bruins will win dat series 4-1. Next up will be the New Jersey Devils (whom they are playing tonight so a potential playoff preview) Marty Brodeur is still a very good goalie and it will be a tougher series than the Flyers but the Bruins will take it and roll tide roll into the Eastern Conference Finals against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Now this series will be the toughest of the playoffs even tougher than the Stanley Cup finals. Sid the Kid, Gino Malkin, Marc-Andre Fleury. This game will go 7 and will take every ounce of effort from the Bruins to win this series, but with that being said I think the Bruins have it in them to take down the mighty Penguins. On to the Stanley Cup, the Bruins will be looking to win the Stanley Cup for time since 1972 ( the year I was born ladies) and play in Lord Stanley’s Cup since 1990. So ya its been a while and it is about time the Bruins join in on Boston Sports Greatness. I expect the Western Conference finals to come down to the San Jose Sharks and the Vancouver Canucks. And that series has the potential to be great. This is the year I think the Sharks have the ability to overcome playoff jinks that has plagued them for a few seasons. Sharks vs Bruins final. For the Stanley Cup wow I am getting the chills just thinking about this right now. If the Bruins make it to the Stanley Cup this year I might just might have to fly back to Boston to partake in the fun. I believe the Bruins win the Stanley Cup this year 4-2 series win with Nathan Horton becoming the MVP on the playoffs. BOOOOMMM ROASSTTTEEDDDDD America. There you have it. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Now on to the TOTCOTW (Tip Of The Cap Of The Week) award winner. This weeks Winner is Jeremy Jacobs. Resigning two of your top players to multi year deals the stars are aligning finally for the Bruins and Jacobs and boy I could not be anymore exciting. So a big thank you to Jacobs for opening that enormous wallet of yours and putting it to great use. This time is built to be a great team for many years and I am as excited as a stoner when someone brings Cheetos over.  BOOO YAAARRRRR grandmamma. Your welcome world and welcome back KING WHALEN.

9-18-10

KingWhalen saw Kings of Leon in concert last night all the way up in West Palm Beach, FL. 3rd time I’ve seen them in concert, first time as an attendee, (first two times was when I ran the show at the Orpheum Theatre in boogie down Boston.)

What a great show these guys are true performers, the songs sounded great just great like you were listening to an ipod. I was surely rocking out and don’t call me Shirley. Left the stadium took an hour drive to West Palm to get there. First time in a mini cooper things are nice, highly underrated car, felt like Marky Mark Wahlberg in the Italian Job.

Had some miller thrillas and some bud lights, some chicken tenders and pizza. (everything I’m not supposed to be eating or drinking) but when in west palm do as the west palm beachiens do. Timmy5times Amara and matt matty dew roache won’t like me blogging about something other than sports but thus long hair don’t care the show was so great it is worth a blogspot.

Went apeshit when they played Sex on Fire (my favorite song of all time) rocked my pants off almost literally. Great night for an outdoors concert about 80 degrees with a light breeze that’s the SoFla life, I’m just living it and you aren’t.

Kings of Leon early candidate for TOTCOTW award.

Go Kings of Leon, Go Kingwhalen, Go Patriots.

Thank you and good night world.

9-14-10

What a great week of sport it was. I enjoyed it, you enjoyed it and she enjoyed it. Unfortunate event did occur however, the Mazda is costing big KingWhalen $1,500.00 to get fixed. Wow. Looks like I have to cancel my Vegas trip this year.  Unbelievable, she has been a good little whip up until now. That was this week’s Matty Dew’s “Matty Don’t”.

You and I know that Timford Binford Amara and Matty Dew will not like me making this into an overall KingWhalen blog but, long hair don’t care, I do what I want—Cartman Voice. For anyone that visits Fort Lauderdale check out Rendezvous Bar & Grill great little restaurant right on the marina and walking distance to KingWhalen’s bach pad. They have a fantastic Smoked Mahi Mahi Dip (pic on right is Roache's future mother-in-law... or future wife), had it while watching the Pats game on Sunday. Phenomenal. The bar is owned by Bruce Armstrong a truly great Patriot #78, great guy. They also have an indoor outdoor bar large fish tank and most importantly the NFL Sunday Ticket, I showed up around 12:30pm sat their had me self a Guinness and they asked what game I am watching so I could have it on right in front of me. Great Stuff, great way to not only kickoff the Pats season but also a great return to grandpa’s old cough medicine for Stephen Whalen after a lengthy health scare. Lost about 10 to 15 pounds over the last month felt shitty everyday, Now I am getting my Roger Clemens on and starting to feel better.

Pats did look great huh?? Wow, what a statement to come out like that in the first game of the year against the 2nd biggest shit talking team (the biggest shit talking also lost word to ya moms). At least for one week the guy I have been dogging since last year’s playoff loss to the Ravens shut me up, Gary Guyton well played sir well played indeed. You still aren’t winning the TOTCOTW award however. You played well for one week made a huge play, lets see if you can be a consistent player week in and week out. Stevie G for 3 was not so golden missed two field goals that’s unacceptable against a good team like next week against Tim’s secret favorite team the Jets that might be the reason we win or we lose, clean it up Stevie G.

Now on to the award, the coveted TOTCOTW (Tip Of The Cap Of The Week) week 4 award winner. The award this week is kind of a dark horse of sorts. You know what he did a great job in his first ever NFL game against one of the best receivers in recent memory. #32 in your programs, # 1 in your hearts, Devin McCourty. A rookie starting in the first game of his career shut down TO all day long. You could see from the very beginning the gameplan was to attack the rookie McCourty first place from scrimmage was a bomb to TO with McCourty covering, broke up the pass and then from there on out it was good night TO. Granted TO is a shell of his former self but still McCourty had no business shutting down TO and that’s exactly what he did. Tremendous performance to start off your career. Keep up the good work rook and congrats from all of us here at CommShowBombShow.

9-05-10

Wow its been a week already, wow this week flew by… 6 Marlin baseball games, a UMiami football game and an inventory of a half million dollar warehouse will do that to you… I asked myself this morning, am I excited for this weeks sporting events happening around the world? And I answered that question with a question ARE YOU KIDDING ME STEPHEN?? Boise State vs VT on for a Labor day College foosball bash. NFL is back Saints vs Vikings on thirsty Thursday, The U vs TOSU on Saturday at 3:30pm, Bama vs JoePa at 7:00, Oklahoma FSU 3:30 and then the 2010 Patriots make their season debut against the Nati Bengals on Sunday. Wow I think I just got a brand new ulcer just thinking about all that. Friday I will be golfing with some of my fellow managers from Sun Life and NHL ’11 comes out on Tuesday so combine all that together, I don’t think I will be getting any sleep all week.

Matty Dew and Timmy2times do not like me talking about my video game adventures but long hair don’t care, I will anyway, I will be keeping all of you updated about the Boston Bruin franchise I will be starting on tipsy Tuesday. Potential to win the Cup in the first season is real in the game and in real life. I will be keeping a solid Bruins blog throughout the season on NHL ’11 and the real NHL season. Since I am a master debater  I have been debating between myself about ordering the NHL CenterIce package through Comcast so that I can watch nearly every Bruins game this year because I think something real special is about to happen this season. $171.50 for the entire year it doesn’t come cheap, I am still unsure what the decision will be. If I do order it I will be including a weekly Bruins blog on my KingWhalen blog on commshowbombshow.com. So if Comcast reads this and wants to knockdown the price a few ticks, or if CommShowBombshowites want to send some money to sunny SoFla it will be greatly appreciated.

Now the moment that everyone has been waiting for the TOTCOTW (Tip Of The Cap Of The Week) award winner for week 3. The Winner of this week’s award has been the most deserving winner in the 3 week history of CommShowBombShow period. Without further ado, Mark Herzlich is this week’s winner. Wow! What a player. What a person. He returns to the field for the BC Eagles after having cancer. This is incredible that about 1 year after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer he is back in action. There isn’t one person in the world that didn’t feel good for that kid on Saturday; what an incredible story. Marky Mark Herzlich will be a certain #1 seed for the CommShowBombShow march madness TOTCOTW tourney. I cannot begin to imagine what must have been going through his body coming out of that tunnel on Saturday. Now we just have to get Belichick to draft him next year. I would love to have this kid on the Pats; I don’t even care if he is as good as Willie McGinest or as horrible as Gary Guyton. I want this kid on the Pats plain and simple. I am hoping that Herzlich can return to his ACC Defensive Player of the Year form, but just incredibly happy that he is back on the field period. From all of us here at CommShowBombShow congratulations not only on the award but also on the tremendous return to the field.

PS Mark if you ever read this I would have a beer with you any day.

Well folks until next week I will quote the great Llyod Christmas and hit ya with a “Big gulp huh? All right!  Welp, see ya later.”

Hello to all my blog readers. Now I know many of you are thinking steve whalen is the best blogger on this site why doesn’t he blog more, well people I would love to if I didn’t have a job that required me to be there 120 hours a week. If this damn radio show/website would make me millions I’d blog every hour of every day. How would I do this well I would sleep every half hour and blog whenever I was awake, until that happens I’ll be on a once a week basis.

I also do apologize for timmy boom boom amara’s late start last week. Apparently Middleboro, Ma has switched to pacific standard time, I was ready at 8pm est. (our original start time) but it didn’t even get going until 11pm est.  So for all you listeners who thought the show was kind of flat blame it on tim. I bring the noise and the funk to the show if you guys and mostly girls want to hear this beautiful voice every week send tim an email and tell him to get his act together.

Now that is over on to the good stuff. Big week for myself 6 marlins baseball games and THE U start on Thursday going to be a very busy week once again, life is such. I have been mostly out of the loop on sports in God’s country I missed the pats game vs the rams, sox are done (WHO). I did some light reading and highlight watching of the pats third preseason game and like some things and hated some things. Tom Brady looks great, the two tight ends Gronk and A-Hern look like solid patriot veterans not little rook bitches. Brandon Tate running back the opening kickoff of the game wow just awesome, imagine if we have a serious homerun threat running back kicks all year long, that makes the scoring potential of this team downright dangerous. I just got a little scared for the NFL just thinking about it. Now on to the bad stuff. Defense what defense, I’m pretty sure the Rev’s defense would have done better than the patriots did the other night. What is even more scary is that we played the St.louis rams and a rook Sam Bradford. I’m not gonna go all neg right now cause I did not see the whole game and tim would probably cry but that is definitely a scary scary thing for Billy B and the P A T S. They might just have to win games 45-44 all year long and we can certainly do that without a doubt. I hope I am pulling a classic tim amara overhype about the D right now I hope it was just maybe a fluke and saving the right stuff for the playoffs but not a good thing right now.

One thing I am very excited for this week and this paragraph will be all about THE U. THE U opens up their 2010 season at home vs FAMU (florida agricultural and mechanical university for all you non-Floridians). THE U will destroy this joke of a team (my alma mater, Lasell College, would beat FAMU and we don’t even have a football team) by 21 points, TB3, my favorite player, better get the damn ball and a couple scores. The one good thing about THE U playing FAMU is the band, FAMU has the best marching band in college sports history they are purely great. And I hate marching bands so you can take that one to the grave with you. Don’t believe me? Google them or check out @OGochocinco on twitter. I watched them last year and wow it was awesome, Matty Dew and his ex-girlfriend Lizzy Beer would literally crap their respective pants if they ever had the pleasure of seeing this band.

Now the moment everyone has been waiting for the TotCotW (Tip of the Cap of the Week award). Last week the gecko Wes Welker took home the award for his triumph return. After much research (and plenty of debate between myself) the 2nd TotCotW of 2010 goes to Rob Gronkowski (Gronk as he is known in my condo). His line from Preseason Week 3: 3 recs for 66 yards and 2 TDs from TB12. After the Falcons game I thought A-Hern had locked down the starting job and Gronk would be brought on a little more slowly and then boom in your face America here comes Gronk. These 2 tight ends are going to be great for the Pats, yes great. Imagine two Ben Coates on the field at the same time, with Randy, Wes, and Julian…………..,,,,,, whoa sorry just got a chill thinking about that one. Congrats to you Robby Gronk keep up the good work rook.

Hello world first time blogger here… Last night was my first look at the 2010 New England Patriots and wow they did not disappoint. They looked great, now I don’t want to get overhyped it is just the preseason and as we all know it means nothing but wow they looked like a team ready to prove something. Sign Brady up now give him whatever he wants, he looks as determined as ever, he looks as if he is a rookie (minus the Justin Bieber haircut). The difference now is what a leader he is becoming he is really taking his leadership to the next level. Krafty Bob sign him already. Aaron Hernandez !BOOOOOOMMM! this guy was unreal he out played one of the best tight ends in the history on the NFL (Big Tony for those of you who live under a rock). The quickness and agility he displayed I haven’t seen since Antonio Gates first came on the scene and with Tommy B at the helm for the next 5 to 6 years (even longer I hope) the possibilities for this guy is endless. Put him on the line, line up, spilt him out as a wide receiver wow. And that TD catch was great just a small glimpse at what this season could potentially have in store.

Other things I enjoyed from watching the Pats last night. My boy Zoltan Mesko 2 punts inside the 20, a long punt of 50 yards. And the best part of all great holds. It is a great sign when no one is talking about the snaps and holds on a punt or field goal. If I don’t get a number #14 Mesko jersey for my 24th birthday (December 4th for all you jambronis out there) from my fellow CommShowBombShowites I will be one upset birthday girl boy this year.

Wes Welker back awesome just plain awesome the nickname I give him for this year is the gecko. The guy basically just regenerated his entire leg over the off season, how else to explain him recovering so fast.

Now I will introduce what I will be doing on a weekly basis here at CommShowBombShow Whalen the King Blog. It is the Tip of the Cap of the Week award. Each week I will award someone or something with the TotCotW (Tip of the Cap of the Week). At the end of a full calendar year a bracket tournament will be created with all of the TotCotW award winners and it will be voted upon by myself, Timmy Boom Boom Amara, and Coacheroache Matty Dew Roache, and all of our great followers on CommShowBombShow.com

And now drum roll please………………….This weeks TotCotW award winner is none other than #83 Wes Welker. Wes you earned it, Dedication, perseverance, and balls of the hardest steel in the world (careful with those you might injure a woman with em). From myself and everyone else at CommShowBombshow congrats Wes.

WOoorrddd uPPppp. DOOO Woorkkkk.
